A Brief Overview

Provide elevated technical support with a focus on entry-level networking and security. This role involves maintaining IT monitoring infrastructure, assisting with network administration and performance, and supporting security measures to protect systems and data. The ideal candidate has a foundational understanding of networking, security best practices, and monitoring solutions. Assist core Networking, Security, and Virtual Health teams with initial technical support including triaging, troubleshooting, and change request processing either ending in resolution or escalation to the appropriate department or on-call staff. During incidents be responsible for communication and resolution procedures including vendor and site follow up.

What you will do

  • Support core Avera IT functions of network incident response, security request processing, network performance troubleshooting, telemedicine technical support, and monitoring solution configuration and maintenance.
  • Work as the main point of contact for network configuration change requests and performance review. Processing VLAN change requests in Juniper Mist or Cisco command line.
  • Respond and react to incidents with organization alerts and coordinate on estimated time to resolution.
  • Assist in implementing security best practices to comply with company policies and industry standards.
  • Provide technical assistance for telemedicine solutions such as Tytocare, Artisight, and Polycom.
  • Ensure accurate and detailed incident documentation for ticketing and playbook purposes.
  • Collaborate with teams including Service Desk to resolve IT issues related to network and security.
  • Utilize software and hardware tools to assist with identifying, diagnosing, and correcting problems affecting system performance. Such as Juniper Mist, Cisco ThousandEyes, and Solarwinds.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Basic understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.).
  • Familiarity with security principles and endpoint protection.
  • Knowledge of monitoring solutions such as Solarwinds, ThousdanEyes, and Juniper Mist.
  • Experience with Cisco command line interface configuration and Juniper Network switch configuration.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft products in an enterprise environment.
