MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required

The DeKalb County School District is seeking an experienced and professional Bus Monitor.

Title: SUB Monitor, Bus
Under general supervision, maintains behavioral discipline and focuses on the special needs of students being transported on DeKalb County School District (DCSD) buses.
 
Essential Functions:
The following duties are representative for this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

• Oversees students and/or special education students over scheduled routes and/or to/from special excursions.
• Enforces rules, regulations, and laws to maintain safety during transport.
• Ensures the safety of special education students during transport, loading and unloading from buses.
• Performs other duties as assigned

 
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED preferred.  Please have your institution/school send your transcript electronically to [email protected].
Minimum of six (6) months years of experience working with students with disabilities is preferred.
 
Knowledge of 2-way radio communication preferred.
Reliable transportation required.
 
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PERMITS:
• Must have or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification.
