Second Shift Production Supervisor
The Second Shift Supervisor will provide leadership and guidance to a team for 40-50 team members. This candidate will have authority on personnel decisions, hiring, performance, and/or disciplinary action. The ideal candidate will have the ability to think critically, meet deadlines, and lead a dynamic team to safely meet production targets and quality standards.
What You Will Do:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of the manufacturing team to ensure efficient production processes and adherence to quality standards.
Plan and schedule production activities, ensuring that production targets are met within the specified timeframes while effectively managing overtime.
Monitor, maintain and analyze production data, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions to optimize productivity and reduce waste.
Ensure that all manufacturing equipment, including CNC machines and hand tools, are properly maintained and serviced via defined PM activities.
Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, maintenance and quality control, to resolve production issues and implement process improvements.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the procurement team to ensure the availability of raw materials and components for production.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment, enforce safety regulations and promote a culture of safety awareness among the team.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members, identifying areas for improvement and recognizing achievements.
What You Need to Succeed:
High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
3+ years of experience as a Supervisor or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of lean principles and methodologies
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, assembly, and quality control.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Maintains a sense of urgency with safety, quality and the customer in mind.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in a manufacturing setting.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Proficiency in using manufacturing software and systems.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Adaptable and able to adjust to new processes, technologies, or production requirements.
