Job Description

This position leads the brand with a 360-business approach. It is responsible for the planning, selecting and buying of the Brand product and delivering the strategy from end to end. Must have strong analytical and communication as this position will work constantly with the cross functional teams. Focus on improving the business by being able to see the big picture without losing the eye for detail in order to deliver efficient and productive results.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build Product Strategy for the Retail & E-commerce channels based in consumer insights and financial targets (margin, revenue).
  • Responsible of downloading the strategy to the Aerie buyers and following up to make things happen.
  • Compile reports and communicate product performance and actions on a weekly, monthly and seasonal basis.
  • Analyze product performance and sales plans continuously to look for sales and margin opportunities that can exceed plan and quickly adapt to changes/trends occurring in the business and in the marketplace.
  • Maintain an in-depth and up-to-date understanding of competition and marketplace through store visits and competitive analysis.
  • Work closely with the Global Merchandising team to secure market’s product needs through development of seasonal roadmap.
  • Advice on internal promotions as needed to drive product sales.
  • Manage the Open To Buy, including receipts, sales, margin, markdowns, and inventory
  • Establish beginning of season strategic roadmap plans for sales, markdowns, inventory, and growth opportunity and assume ownership over product deviations of the assortment.
  • In charge of creating the product store segmentation based in store level analysis by season.
  • Work closely with the Inventory Planning team to align allocation strategy.
  • Responsible of securing the product is on time to execute each floorset. Mitigate risk by taking constant action on product flow actions such as: identifying low in stocks, low weeks of supply, product pull-ups, chase opportunities, product early sets, etc.
  • Maintaining close communication with Logistics areas to ensure product deliveries.
  • Responsible for keeping track and communicating shipments and receipts to CF areas.
  • Work closely with the Visual team in order to execute the product stories correctly in the floor.
  • Close communication with the marketing and creative services team in order to deliver a cohesive communication to our customers.
  • This position must have a great relationship with the Retail and E-commerce teams in order to secure and deliver an Omni strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or equivalent.
  • Five+ years buying experience in the merchandising or retail industry.
  • Experience in managing a team of 2+ people.
  • Excellent numeric skills (Planning and Forecasting)
  • English Speaking, daily communication with US collaborates.
  • Ability to strategize and strong skills in financial analysis
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team.
  • Risk Taker - Carefully considers risk/reward, ready to try new ways of doing things to improve learning.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure.
  • Outstanding decision-making.
  • Aggressive and passionate individual will be most successful in this and future roles.
  • Travel is required, including international travel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
