Role Overview

The Senior Manager, Construction Support (Commissioning Transformation) is a strategic leadership role responsible for redesigning and optimizing commissioning execution processes across Mitsubishi Power Americas construction projects. This role bridges technical execution and organizational change, driving improvements in productivity, digital integration, resource planning, and operational performance. The position partners with Project Operations, Engineering, and Construction & Commissioning teams to enhance commissioning readiness, standardize processes, and ensure long-term value delivery across projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and lead end-to-end transformation of commissioning execution processes to improve quality, efficiency, and customer outcomes.
  • Develop transformation roadmaps, success metrics, and governance frameworks in collaboration with project leadership.
  • Oversee work intake, prioritization, and resource allocation to ensure efficient execution of initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional implementation of transformation initiatives, ensuring delivery on schedule and within budget.
  • Act as change management lead, ensuring effective communication, stakeholder engagement, and adoption of new processes.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to track performance, progress, ROI, and transformation benefits.
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of commissioning operations.
  • Analyze and improve existing processes through digital, system, and technology enhancements.
  • Partner with Project Operations Planning to develop staffing models, forecasting, and resource planning strategies.
  • Oversee configuration control and governance of commissioning SOPs and operational procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, global best practice alignment, and operational standardization.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in construction, commissioning, engineering, or EPC power project environments.
  • Experience working on EPC power projects with strong understanding of commissioning and construction processes.
  • Proven experience in process transformation, operational improvement, or project execution optimization.
  • Minimum 2 years of direct leadership experience managing teams in construction, commissioning, or project environments.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with ability to manage complex initiatives.
  • Experience developing procedures, technical documentation, and project execution standards.
  • Effective communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and experience working with IT teams on reporting and system development.
  • International experience and multilingual capability (Japanese or Spanish) preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 40% and maintain valid travel documentation.
