Elementary Tutor
Job Description
The Position
Tutors work closely with a team of teachers to support the academic growth and developmental needs of all students. This role is responsible for leading and managing a homeroom classroom while students engage in collaborative, age-appropriate centers, developmental play, and online learning aligned to individualized student data goals. Tutors also provide targeted small-group instruction and intervention support to help bridge learning gaps and reinforce key academic skills.
This position is well suited for individuals who aspire to become classroom teachers and are looking for a more supportive, steady on-ramp into leading a classroom environment. Tutors gain valuable experience in whole-group instruction, classroom leadership, student engagement, and academic intervention while working within a highly collaborative school setting.
Candidates should feel comfortable working in an active, consistently engaging classroom environment where multiple learning activities may take place simultaneously. Strong whole-group classroom management skills, the ability to maintain student engagement, and confidence directing students in both independent and collaborative learning are critical to success in this role.
