Job Description
Job Title: Devops Engineer
Work Location: Bangalore
Shift timings: 8.00am to 5.00pm OR 12.00pm to 9.00pm IST
Work mode: Hybrid - 3 Days office
The Role Summary:
You will be the primary platform engineer responsible for designing, building, and operating CI/CD infrastructure and Kubernetes environments for the development team across on-premises and Azure cloud. This is a high-autonomy, high-ownership role: you will be the go-to person for everything from pipeline templates to cluster operations to infrastructure migrations.
What You'll Do:
- Own CI/CD: Maintain and extend standardised Azure DevOps YAML pipeline templates consumed by all app teams. Manage build/deployment agent images and their Kubernetes-hosted runners.
- Run Kubernetes: Operate on-premises clusters (ArgoCD/GitOps) and AKS clusters in Azure (FluxCD/GitOps). Provision namespaces, RBAC, service accounts and middleware (Consul, RabbitMQ, Vault, Elasticsearch, monitoring stack).
- Automate everything: Namespace provisioning, Azure DevOps pipeline and variable group creation via API, Ansible-managed reverse proxies, automated certificate workflows.
- Monitor: Maintain Prometheus/Grafana/Alertmanager stack including a custom monitoring operator for auto-generating dashboards per team.
- Support dev teams: Technical consulting on containerisation, Helm charts, pipeline development, Kubernetes deployments and incident response for internal and external teams.
- Drive migrations: Lead or support workload migrations from legacy on-prem (ES-AREA1) to segregated Azure environments (AAG011) and toward the group-wide Odysseus AKS platform.
- Infrastructure as Code: Manage Azure infrastructure via Bicep; manage package registries (Azure Container Registry, JFrog Artifactory, HashiCorp Vault).
What You Bring
Must-have:
- Solid Kubernetes experience (operations, RBAC, Helm, Kustomize, troubleshooting)
- Azure DevOps — pipelines, agents, service connections, variable groups
- GitOps with FluxCD or ArgoCD
- Scripting proficiency: Bash, PowerShell or Python for automation
- Git-based workflow as a daily habit
Strong plus:
- HashiCorp Vault (secrets management, ExternalSecrets)
- Prometheus / Grafana
- Azure (AKS, Container Registry, networking)
- Ansible
- JFrog Artifactor
- .NET and/or Java application ecosystems (for support & build pipeline context)
- AWS EKS experience
Nice to have:
- Crossplane, Skaffold
- Kubernetes operator development
- Experience in regulated industries (food testing, pharma, life sciences)
What We Offer
- Full ownership of a platform that serves the development team in Food DACH
- A well-documented environment with a structured handover (Day 0/1/2 runbooks)
- Hybrid work model
- Exposure to group-level cloud engineering via the Odysseus migration program
- Direct impact on lab operations across the DACH region
Location & Language
- Germany (DACH region). Working language is English; German is a plus for stakeholder communication.
