Role Overview
The International External Reporting team is responsible for the preparation and delivery of statutory financial statements across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring full compliance with local GAAP and regulatory requirements. The role, working in tandem with the Head of International External Reporting, serves as a key liaison between finance teams, auditors, and regulators, ensuring that all statutory reporting obligations are met accurately and within established deadlines.
This position requires strong technical accounting expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across regions and functions to produce high quality, audit ready financial statements. The individual is also responsible for maintaining robust controls, supporting external audits, and driving consistency and efficiency within the statutory reporting process.
In addition, the role plays a critical part in supporting finance transformation initiatives, including the implementation of reporting tools and process automation. The successful candidate should also demonstrate an interest in emerging technologies, including AI-driven tools, and be open to adopting innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and strengthen financial processes.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential, with the ability to clearly articulate and document processes, controls, and recommendations related to financial reporting in a concise and timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver statutory financial statements in accordance with local GAAP
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory filing requirements and deadlines
- Assist in the coordination of multi-entity and multi-jurisdiction reporting requirements
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors on specific audits
- Manage the audit process, including planning, deliverables, and issue resolution
- Ensure all audit support and documentation is complete, accurate, and audit ready (e.g., in Workiva)
- Review key reconciliations and adjustments (e.g., GAAP differences)
- Validate completeness and accuracy of disclosures
- Coordinate financial statements sign off and board approvals in collaboration with the Head of International External Reporting
- Coordinate inputs from multiple functions and jurisdictions
- Contribute to the provision of clear communication on timelines, issues, and risks to senior management
- Assist in documenting processes and ensuring consistency across entities
- Identify opportunities for automation and standardization (e.g., Workiva, reporting templates)
- Lead or contribute to finance transformation initiatives impacting external reporting
Skills and Experience
- Qualified accountant with 8+ years of experience in external reporting
- Strong knowledge of relevant accounting frameworks (e.g., IFRS, US GAAP, etc)
- Proven expertise in financial statement preparation and disclosures
- Experience managing external audits and maintaining auditor relationships
- Strong focus on accuracy, completeness, and audit readiness
- Proficiency in reporting tools (e.g., Workiva) and financial systems (e.g. PeopleSoft)
- Ability to coordinate effectively across multiple teams and regions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable engaging with senior management and external auditors
- Excellent time management skills
- Expertise leveraging AI-driven tools to analyze financial statements, with a willingness to adopt and utilize emerging technologies
