Pricing Lead

This critical role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring pricing strategies that align with global and local business objectives, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen our competitive position in the local market. The Pricing Lead will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive profitability and optimize pricing models for innovative therapies and pharmaceutical products.

Key Responsibilities

1. Pricing Strategy Development

  • Design and implement pricing strategies and models for pharmaceutical and biotechnology products, including innovative and biosimilar therapies.
  • Balance profitability, market share, and compliance by tailoring pricing approaches to the Colombian healthcare system.

2. Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure all pricing strategies comply with Colombian pricing regulations and control methodologies for pharmaceutical and biotechnology products.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze government pricing policies, proactively adjusting strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Ensure accurate and timely local pricing reporting on required platforms (e.g., SISMED).

3. Market Research and Analysis

  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis, including pricing trends, competitor strategies, customer behavior, and demand dynamics within the pharma and biotech sectors.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to inform pricing decisions and refine models according to market needs.

4. Financial Impact and Revenue Optimization

  • Evaluate the financial impact of pricing strategies on revenue, profitability, and overall business performance.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on pricing performance, market trends, and policy implications to senior leadership.
  • Lead and collaborate in the development of discount and revenue optimization strategies based on client segmentation.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, and Finance to ensure pricing strategies align with broader business objectives.
  • Support commercial teams in preparing and executing robust pricing strategies for negotiations.
  • Contribute to successful product launches by developing effective go-to-market pricing strategies that drive market adoption.

6. Competitive Intelligence

  • Analyze competitor pricing, access, and reimbursement strategies across the pharmaceutical and biotechnology landscape.
  • Identify opportunities for differentiation and maintain a sustainable competitive advantage.

7. Product Lifecycle Management

  • Lead pricing strategy development across the full product lifecycle, from pre-launch to maturity.
  • Continuously adapt pricing approaches in response to market evolution, product performance, and competitive dynamics.

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in pricing, finance, and/or market access roles within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries.
  • Advanced English proficiency
  • Strong knowledge of the Colombian healthcare system, including market dynamics and regulatory frameworks.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MSc) or specialization in Healthcare Management, Market Access, or Biotechnology is preferred.
  • Experience in people leadership or functional leadership roles (e.g., Lead, Supervisor, Coordinator, or Manager)

Skills & Competencies

  • Solid understanding of healthcare pricing regulations, Health Technology Assessment (HTA), and reimbursement processes.
  • Advanced analytical capabilities, including financial modeling, data analysis, and use of pricing or analytics tools.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively across functions and organizational levels.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, demonstrating adaptability and resilience.
