Job Description
The Admissions Coordinator job entails managing a wide range of processes and projects in regard to having clients admit to Pinnacle Peak Recovery. The Admissions Coordinator speaks with both the client and the client’s relations who may be involved in the client being placed in treatment. They will guide others in the agency to assist in the admissions process such as Insurance Verification, Medical, Clinical and Intake. The Admissions Coordinator will ensure that data is collected regarding referral source, potential family involvement, potential length of stay for the client including initial discharge planning and financial planning and payments. 

This position reports to Admissions Director. 

Duties and Responsibilities
 
  • The Admissions Coordinator will often be the first point of contact with many potential clients and the main spokesperson for potential clients and their referral source. This requires both skilled communication and expediency of contact with inquiries. 
  • The Admissions Coordinator will oversee accuracy of the Verification of Benefits for potential clients 
  • The Admissions Coordinator will be responsible for assuring that all inquiries are logged in the agency EMR system nothing person, date, referral source and nature of the inquiry. 
  • Maintaining communication open lines with all organizations and providing prompt answers to requests in order to determine how to convey concise, clear, and timey selective information. 

Skills and Specifications
 
  • Computer proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook skills). 
  • Ability to operate under pressure and meet tight deadlines with the ability to triage admissions calls. 
  • Effective project management skills. 
  • Sound understanding of marketing principles. 
  • Effective understanding of latest technologies and should identify how to apply them in effective admission placements for clients. 
  • Must have a diverse referral network to be able to refer clients to appropriate levels of care if deemed not suitable for admission to Pinnacle Peak Recovery.
  • Communicate tactfully and with caring in verbal and in writing with a diverse demographic that may be in crisis and emotionally escalated. 
    • Must be able to work collaboratively with clinical and medical staff to assure appropriateness of treatment placement. 
    • Other duties as assigned. 
Qualifications 
  • The Admissions Coordinator should have experience in addictions/substance abuse behavioral health setting answering phones and speaking with persons who are in crisis and seeking help. 
  • The Admissions Coordinator must have a solid foundation and belief in 12 Step Recovery practices and principles in addition to counseling and therapeutic interventions. 
  • This position requires a person who can speak in English clearly and precisely, write clearly and professionally and familiarity with clinical and medical jargon. 
  • This position requires proven computer skill with a variety of computer programs for narrative, data entry and extrapolating data.
