Assistant Project Officer
Location – Parramatta Hybrid working
Employment type – Temporary until September 2028
Salary – GR5/6 $99,938 - $110,271 plus superannuation
Your role

Homes NSW is a division of the Department of Communities and Justice. It brings together the housing and homelessness functions of the Department of Communities and Justice, the NSW Land and Housing Corporation, Aboriginal Housing Office and key worker housing functions from across government all under one roof.
Assist in managing and implementing a range of projects across Housing Portfolio to support and improve service delivery and optimise outcomes in portfolio performance and stakeholder relations.
What you’ll do
- Assists in managing a range of projects to deliver initiatives to Housing Portfolio.
- Assists in undertaking administrative and operational tasks, including monitoring project plans, coordinating resources and managing deliverables and tasks.
- Assists with research and analysis to support the development of key projects and budgetary targets across Housing Portfolio.
- Assists in managing projects and undertaking analysis to review, monitor and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of service delivery within Housing Portfolio.
- Work with team to provide operational advice and communication to stakeholders regarding project status and implementation issues as well as analysing the issues in order to recommend appropriate solutions within delegation and context.
- Assists in preparing a range of project related documents including briefing notes, status updates, reports, budgets and discussion papers.
- Utilises and implements project management methodologies and processes in all projects.
What we’re looking for
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related discipline are desirable, or an equivalent combination of skills, knowledge, and practical experience, with a strong commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Understanding of Microsoft Office, with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and a grasp of project management principles and practices.
- Demonstrated experience in, or exposure to project work within a government or comparable environment.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development of advice or outputs within a policy or project context.
- Knowledge of legislation and government processes relevant to Homes NSW or similar public sector environments.
- National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
