Work Shift
Job Summary:
Performs assigned patient care duties under the direction of a licensed provider (MD/PA/NP) or RN. Responsible for performing CMA clinical duties to include, but not limited to obtaining vital signs, administering limited profile of medications/injections per approved policy, performing simple diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, cleaning equipment, ordering/stocking supplies, and maintaining exam rooms in an outpatient care setting. Assists in emergencies as directed by licensed provider or RN. Duties are practice site-specific and may fluctuate based on location.
Required Minimum Education:
High School Diploma General or GED General or Other / Certificate Medical Assisting
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor or BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support
CMA - Cert Medical Assistant or RMA - Registered Medical Assistant or CCMA - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or NCMA - National Certified Medical Assistant or MEDCA - Certified Clinical & Administrative Medical Assistant
Additional License(s) and Certification(s):
Current certification from one of the following medical assisting credentialing bodies (accrediting body listed first, certification denoted in parenthesis): AAMA (CMA), AMT (RMA), NHA (CCMA), NCCT (NCMA), or MedCA. Upon Hire Required
Required Minimum Experience:
Minimum 1 year outpatient setting; prefer experience in the specialty for which applicant is applying Preferred
Valid GA drivers' license required if working in Virtual Care or Wellness on Wheels Required
Required Minimum Skills:
Phlebotomy/EKG/manual BP
