Purpose of role:
MUFG is seeking a Vice President, Regional Product Manager for Transaction Banking to join their esteemed team in Singapore. What you'll do:
As Vice President, you will play a central role in shaping the future of transaction banking products throughout Asia Pacific. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to design innovative cash management solutions tailored for diverse markets. You will be responsible for overseeing complex product development projects from conception through launch and ensuring each initiative aligns with both customer needs and organisational objectives. You will leverage your expertise in market research and stakeholder engagement and help drive digital transformation while upholding rigorous compliance standards. Your contributions will directly impact MUFG’s reputation as a leader in transaction banking services.
- Define and execute the strategic vision for cash management products with a focus on Payments, Collections, and Channel/Digital solutions across the Asia Pacific region.
- Lead end-to-end product development projects, including system enhancements and new launches, ensuring timely delivery within established budgets while meeting customer expectations.
- Conduct comprehensive market research to understand client needs, analyse competitive trends, and interpret regulatory changes to inform product strategies that enhance market presence.
- Collaborate extensively with internal teams such as sales, marketing, operations, systems, compliance, and risk management to ensure seamless execution of product initiatives.
- Partner with MUFG’s Transaction Banking Division in Japan and other regional units to develop cross-border solutions that address both local and global business requirements.
- Drive digital innovation by integrating advanced technologies into transaction banking products and enhancing digital channels to exceed evolving customer expectations.
- Ensure all products adhere strictly to regulatory standards and internal risk policies by working closely with compliance teams to identify potential risks early.
- Monitor product performance through detailed reporting; use insights from data analysis to refine strategies and continuously improve offerings.
- Provide regular updates on project progress and outcomes to senior leadership while maintaining transparent communication with all stakeholders involved.
- Continuously assess project governance models and contribute ideas for enhancing existing frameworks in line with best practices across the APAC region.
What you bring:

- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in product management within Transaction Banking Services—preferably focused on cash management with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Finance or a related discipline
- Demonstrated expertise in leading large-scale product development initiatives involving multiple stakeholders across functions such as Sales/Coverage, Systems, Operations, Compliance/Financial Crime, Legal, Risk Management, Treasury, senior executives, and business users.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills enabling you to build strong relationships internally and externally while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Advanced analytical abilities including proficiency in data analysis techniques and business process mapping; capable of building financial models for complex multi-market assessments.
- Outstanding presentation skills allowing you to communicate technical concepts clearly to both specialist and non-specialist audiences at all levels of the organisation.
- Experience establishing robust frameworks for processes and procedures within large multinational organisations—demonstrating adaptability in ambiguous environments.
- A collaborative mindset with openness to exploring alternative solutions; able to work effectively within multicultural teams while appreciating diversity and cultural nuances.
- Comprehensive understanding of compliance requirements within the financial industry; proactive approach towards ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines for sustainable business growth.
- Proficiency in managing investment budgets for system projects—including negotiation skills required for securing funding from head office or regional partners—and monitoring expenses against budget allocations.
