What you'll build

Your work will directly impact how thousands of companies leverage their travel and expense data for business intelligence and decision-making.
You will architect cloud-native solutions on AWS, leveraging services like S3, Kinesis, SQS, Lambda, and Redshift to optimize for scalability, reliability, security and cost efficiency. Whether implementing customer-managed encryption keys for enterprise clients or building data quality validation systems, your code will handle mission-critical workloads that power analytics for global organizations.
Beyond individual contributions, you'll shape technical direction through code reviews and architectural discussions. You'll mentor team members and contribute to a culture of engineering excellence where learning and knowledge sharing drive continuous improvement.
What you bring
You have proven minimum five years experience building distributed systems and understand the challenges of processing large-scale data pipelines. Your background includes developing REST based microservices in Java with Spring Boot/Go, and you're comfortable working with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS services. Python experience is plus. You must be experienced in CI/CD tools, security remediations, infra as code and other DevOPs skills.
You bring strong problem-solving skills and can design solutions that balance technical excellence with business pragmatism. Experience with event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing helps you think through data flow challenges. Your proficiency with SQL and relational databases enables you to optimize queries and design efficient data models.
You should have skill to leverage AI based tools such as CoPilot and Claude both for engineering efficiency and understanding to be able to enable AI with Data and components such as MCPs.
You're collaborative by nature, contributing thoughtfully in code reviews and technical discussions. You value automated testing and continuous integration practices that enable teams to move quickly with confidence. Whether you're debugging production issues or designing new features, you communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and you remain customer focussed.
We welcome candidates from non-traditional backgrounds and career changers who bring fresh perspectives. If you have transferable skills in software engineering and a growth mindset toward learning data engineering concepts, we encourage you to apply. Experience with technologies like Kubernetes, data streaming platforms, or schema evolution strategies is valuable but not required—we invest in developing these skills within our team.
Where you belong
You'll join the Core Data Pipeline and BI Platform team, a collaborative group that values diverse perspectives and approaches to solving complex technical challenges.
We foster a culture of continuous learning where asking questions is encouraged and knowledge sharing is built into our daily routines. Whether you're deepening expertise in distributed systems or exploring new areas like data governance and compliance, you'll find support for your professional development.
Our team contributes internal frameworks that benefit the broader engineering community. We celebrate wins together and learn from setbacks as a group. You'll work alongside engineers who are passionate about data infrastructure and committed to building systems that are not just functional but maintainable and scalable for the long term.
