
Production Applications Engineer III - ALS (Artificial Lift Systems)
Job Description
Weatherford currently have a great opportunity for an experienced Production Applications Engineer to join the ALS (Artificial Lift Systems) Team in Luanda, Angola.
The Production Applications Engineer is responsible for supporting and adding value to the tendering process from technical and commercial perspective of the ALS product line mainly Reciprocating Rod lift (RRL) and Jet pumps. Preparation of technical and commercial proposals. Working closely with all stakeholders (including but not limited to Technical Sales Team, Operation Team, SME, QHSE, Finance, Legal), the Production Application Engineer provides the required support to ensure that all tenders and proposals are submitted in compliance with both Weatherford and Customer’s requirements. Under the guidance of the Operations Manager-ALS, but also through self-driven initiatives, the Production Applications Engineer adds value to the existing Tenders by identifying, controlling and mitigating risks, maximizing opportunities and ensuring process compliance. This position will also be responsible for collecting tender information (win/loss analysis, market prices, competition positionings, etc).

OPERATIONS

Compliance with work instructions.
Raising corrective actions for all non-conformances.
identifying areas requiring improvement and / or audit
Assist the Technical Sales Representative with the preparation of technical proposals and solutions for customer applications as part of the tendering process. This is to include, but not limited to:
Running AL modeling using WFRD approved software
Create complete equipment list as per modeling and well requirements
Research and collation of equipment technical data
Work with Global and manufacturing team on sourcing the equipment and follow up on the current orders.
Assist in the process of raising the traveler/ cost price request from Manufacturing quotation team as well as third party vendor for tender costing price purposes.
Assist in preparing the draft BSA (commercial proposal) in conjunction with the commercial/pricing strategy driven by the Technical Salesperson.
Supporting Technical salesperson during the BSA presentation. (BSA Presentation to be delivered by the Technical Salesperson).
Coordinating with the SME on the equipment and or technology selections as well as on getting competitive cost price from Manufacturing quotation team and 3rd party vendor for major tender(s).
Coordinating with each country Operation Team to ensure the final tender document is consolidated properly and in a timely manner.
Post tender responsibilities - Responsible for collecting tender information (win/loss analysis, market prices, competition positionings, etc).

Qualifications & Experience Required:
Degree in Mechanical Engineer/Petroleum Engineer.
Experience of relevant oilfield experience i.e. Artificial Lift Systems (Reciprocating Rod pumps, Gas lift & Jet pumps).
Technical background in Artificial Lift Systems.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Good knowledge of relevant computer software.
Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings and procedures.
Good understanding of tendering process in Oil & Gas industry.
General understanding of finance and accounting principles.
Ability to communicate with people at all levels.
Ability to work to tight deadlines.
Ability to work unsupervised.
Flexible and adaptable to a changing environment.
Strong skills in Microsoft Word for Windows, PowerPoint and Excel.
Strong skills in Salesforce and Xait Porter is preferred.
- Good analytical and organizational skills.
Travel Required:
- This role may require domestic and potentially international travel of up to 25%.
