Senior Business Analyst

Role Overview

As a Senior Business Analyst at GFT, you will play a key role in bridging business, regulatory reporting, and technical delivery teams. This role is intended for a Thailand-based or Thai-speaking BA who can work closely with local business stakeholders, regulatory/reporting users, Senior Data Engineers, and Senior Data Analysts to support data platform implementation, data warehouse design, data flow analysis, regulatory reporting, and legacy reports migration.

You will be responsible for gathering and documenting business and reporting requirements, supporting source-to-target data mapping discussions, clarifying legacy report logic, coordinating UAT, and ensuring business expectations are properly translated into technical requirements for the data engineering and reporting teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, reporting requirements, regulatory needs, and functional specifications
• Work closely with Thai business users and local stakeholders to clarify reporting logic, business rules, data definitions, and validation expectations
• Collaborate with Senior Data Engineers to support understanding of data platform architecture, data warehouse design, data flows, data pipelines, and integration requirements
• Collaborate with Senior Data Analysts to support data mapping, regulatory reporting analysis, report reconciliation, and legacy reports migration
• Analyze existing legacy reports, identify business usage, clarify report logic, and support migration planning to the new reporting or data platform
• Facilitate source-to-target mapping discussions by helping clarify business meaning, field definitions, transformation rules, filters, calculations, and aggregation logic
• Support documentation of data mapping, report catalog, business rules, process flows, use cases, workflows, and functional requirements
• Coordinate UAT activities, including test scenario preparation, business validation, defect clarification, and sign-off support
• Work with cross-functional teams, including business users, data engineers, data analysts, architects, QA, and project managers to ensure alignment across business and technical delivery
• Support change management activities related to reporting migration, new data platform adoption, and business process changes
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of project milestones, documentation, validation activities, and stakeholder updates

Required Skills & Experience

• Business Analysis: Strong experience in gathering requirements, documenting business rules, writing functional specifications, preparing workflows, use cases, and supporting UAT
• Thai Business Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to work directly with Thai-speaking stakeholders, understand local business context, and translate business needs into clear requirements for delivery teams
• Data Platform Understanding: Good understanding of data platform concepts, data warehouse design, data flows, data pipelines, data marts, and reporting layers
• Data Engineering Awareness: Ability to work with Senior Data Engineers on data architecture, source systems, integration flows, pipeline requirements, data availability, and technical dependencies
• Data Analysis & Mapping Awareness: Ability to work with Senior Data Analysts on data mapping, source-to-target rules, data validation, reconciliation, and report migration requirements
• Regulatory Reporting: Experience or strong understanding of regulatory, compliance, risk, finance, banking, or operational reporting requirements
• Legacy Reports Migration: Ability to analyze existing reports, clarify business logic, identify gaps, and support migration from legacy reporting environments to new platforms
• Testing & UAT: Experience preparing test scenarios, supporting UAT execution, validating business outputs, tracking defects, and coordinating issue resolution
• Banking / Financial Services Domain: Experience in retail banking, corporate banking, fintech, risk, finance, compliance, or regulatory reporting projects
• Agile Delivery: Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery processes and tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, Lucidchart, or similar
• Communication: Strong communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and coordination skills across business and technical teams.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Business Analyst, Reporting Business Analyst, or similar role
• Experience working on data platform, data warehouse, reporting, regulatory reporting, or legacy system migration projects is highly preferred
• Experience working with data engineering, data analyst, reporting, or regulatory teams is an advantage

Preferred Skills

• Experience in banking regulatory reporting or local Thailand banking/reporting requirements
• Basic SQL knowledge to support data investigation, report validation, or requirement clarification
• Familiarity with BI/reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlik, SSRS, or similar
• Understanding of data governance, data quality, data lineage, metadata, access control, and audit requirements
• Experience in digital transformation, core banking transformation, data migration, or reporting modernization projects
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders across business, technology, and delivery teams
