Job Description
Are you a resourceful HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves having a direct impact on workforce growth? Do you enjoy building relationships with talent pipelines just as much as you enjoy optimizing HR systems and data?
We are seeking a self-motivated Human Resources Generalist to join our team. In this role, you will own the end-to-end employee lifecycle—serving as the driving force behind our recruiting strategy, managing our trades/apprentice partnerships, and keeping our day-to-day operations running seamlessly. As an operational anchor and our Dayforce administrator, you will have the autonomy to manage your workflow, partner directly with hiring managers, and execute ideas that streamline our administrative processes.
Key Responsibilities
Full-Cycle Recruitment: Partner directly with hiring managers to define role profiles, craft job descriptions, source top talent, conduct interviews, and lead the selection process from screening to offer delivery.
Workforce Pipelines: Build and maintain active partnerships with educational institutions and industry networks to support specialized trade pipelines and our Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP).
Onboarding & Offboarding Lifecycle: Own the end-to-end transition cycles—managing everything from offer generation and system provisioning to executing exit interviews and departure compliance.
HRIS Administration: Serve as our internal systems expert, conducting regular multi-platform audits to guarantee absolute employee data integrity.
Advisory Resource: Act as a go-to contact for internal teams regarding HR policies, handbooks, organizational charts, and employment legislation. Provide initial support for employee relations and recognition programs.
Workflow Optimization: Keep a sharp eye out for administrative bottlenecks; recommend and implement practical, modern solutions to reduce the admin burden on our operational managers.
What You Bring to the Team
A diploma, or degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
3 to 5 years of progressive HR experience. Exposure to energy services, construction, oil and gas, or a fast-paced industrial environment is an asset.
Previous experience administering Dayforce is strongly preferred. Deep familiarity with modern Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and sourcing databases is required.
A solid foundation in Canadian employment legislation, human rights laws, and foundational payroll practices.
Autonomy: Self-motivated and comfortable driving successful outcomes independently with minimal daily oversight.
Discretion: High emotional intelligence, exercising flawless judgment when handling sensitive or confidential employee files.
Communication: Strong consultative skills, comfortable and effective when talking to both field-based tradespeople and leadership teams.
Organization: Exceptional time management—you naturally prioritize and hit high-volume deliverables under tight timelines.
