Uses equipment to collect samples of blood and other fluids from patients; explains procedures to patients and collects information from them in a professional manner.Job Description
Collects and manages samples of blood and specimens from patients; ensures patient safety during the sample collection process. Records and documents patient information accurately. Follows all standard procedures and safety regulations; deploys asepsis techniques during phlebotomy procedures. Communicates with patients, collecting their health information and answering their questions regarding phlebotomy procedures.Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent required.Previous work experience in a medical setting is beneficial. Basic knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology.
BLS training required.
