Registered Veterinary Technician, RVT

Location: Oakville, Ontario

Department: Internal Medicine

Schedule: 40 hours/week (4 x 10-hour shifts)

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Status: Existing

Compensation: $29.00 to $38.00, depending on experience and skills.

Mississauga-Oakville Emergency and Specialty Hospital is currently recruiting for a dedicated full-time Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team. Our Internal Medicine-focused RVTs have the opportunity to work with and learn from other RVTs and knowledgeable support staff as well as our board-certified Specialists. If you want to expand your knowledge and skills, joining the VCA-MOVEH team would be a great opportunity for career advancement.

Previous experience in a Veterinary Hospital is an asset; our RVT’s are given the necessary tools and resources to help them succeed. Additional qualifications and attributes you must embrace to be successful in this role:

  • Registered Veterinary Technician, RVT or eligible to register

  • Ability to perform a variety of clinical procedures including (not limited to): Venipuncture, catheter placement, radiology, in house lab work, patient assessment,  sedation and anesthesia, and patient recovery

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a steady, often fast paced environment

  • Willing to further enhance technical skills and expertise  

  • Excellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting pets and pet parents at ease and creating a welcoming environment

  • Confident and supportive team player who can also work independently when required

  • Flexibility, willingness and passion needed to provide the highest standards of care for our patients, clients and each other!
