Job Summary
The Communications and Content Strategist is a core member of Grassi’s marketing team, responsible for managing and producing written content that builds the firm’s brand, supports firm growth and amplifies our presence across key industries.
This role is primarily a content and writing role with a communications dimension — you will spend most of your time creating, refining, and strategically managing content, while also supporting external communications.
The ideal candidate is a skilled B2B writer who understands professional services audiences and can translate complex ideas into clear and compelling content.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation & Management
- Develop thought leadership and content, including thought leadership articles, white papers, case studies, and more, that position Grassi and its leaders across key industries and service lines
- Manage the firm’s award and recognition strategy, including preparation of submission of firm and individual awards; coordinates with SMEs and other team members as needed
- Copy edit written marketing assets, including industry reports, white papers, sales collateral, website copy, thought leadership articles, and other written content as needed
- Identify opportunities to repurpose existing marketing content into new formats, extending the reach and shelf life
- Maintain and evolve the firmwide editorial calendar, managing content priorities and deadlines across teams
- Coordinate with the digital and creative teams on the promotion of written content, award wins and external media hits
Brand Voice & Messaging
- Partner with marketing team members and firm leaders to develop consistent, on-brand messaging across industries and service lines
- Serve as a steward of Grassi’s editorial standards, ensuring quality, tone, and style are consistent across all written touchpoints
- Contribute to and maintain the firm’s style guide and content governance standards
External Communications
- Draft press releases, announcements, and executive communications for external audiences
- Support media relations efforts, including story pitching and coordination with journalists and publications relevant to Grassi’s markets and industries
- Monitor media coverage and track emerging topics to identify timely content and positioning opportunities
- Support speaking engagement and conference submissions for senior leaders
Skills Required:
- 4+ years of experience in communications and content in B2B organizations; professional service experience is preferred
- Exceptional writing skills across content types — from long-form thought leadership to web copy to press materials — with strong editing and proofreading ability
- Experience in external communications, including drafting press releases and supporting media relations activity
- Familiarity with AI tools (such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot) for drafting and content support; willingness to learn and apply team AI workflows\
- Strong project management and organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects and high-volume copy needs under tight deadlines
- Strong relationship skills with the ability to work with colleagues, senior leaders and subject matter experts across the firm
- Self-directed and proactive — able to identify content opportunities and move projects forward without waiting to be asked
- Skilled at translating technical or industry-specific subject matter into accessible, engaging writing for external audiences
- Experience and familiarity working with AP style
- WordPress and HubSpot experience a plus
- BA or higher in English, Marketing, Communications, Writing or Journalism

CPA Incentive: Financial assistance toward the achievement of the CPA certification which includes the cost of the CPA study materials, CPA exam registration and sitting fees for all 4 parts (up to 2 x per part), plus the CPA application and licensing fees. Paid study time during work hours, additional paid time off to take your scheduled exam and a bonus paid upon passing the CPA exam.

Compensation for this role is determined based on a combination of factors, including but not limited to your relevant experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. We strive to offer competitive, equitable pay, that reflects the value each team member brings to the organization. In addition to base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes performance-based incentives, wellness and retirement programs, and opportunities for continuous professional development.
Salary ranges are provided to offer transparency and may vary depending on final candidate qualifications and local market conditions. Please find compensation information below for candidates residing in the following market(s):
New York ranges are from $80,000 – $110,000
