Job Description
The forklift operator will use different types of forklifts and manual and electric jigger to move pallets in areas with limited space.
Role and responsibilities
Responsible for the preparation of raw materials according to the scheduling established by the team leader.
Update the “Factory track” tool for any stock movements or inventory errors (e.g. negatives).
Communicate any inventory inaccuracies to the Team Leader
Ensure that all machines/work cells have a continuous flow of raw materials to avoid shortages.
Ensure that all workstations have sufficient material for palletizing finished parts (wood pallets, foam, cardboard, boxes, packaging containers, etc.).
Empty internal scrap, cardboard, plastic and wood bins in the appropriate places.
When handler intervention is necessary, support the disposal of defective parts from all departments
Operate forklifts, manual or electric pallet trucks and overhead cranes to move materials, taking into account the safety of self and environment; inspect and maintain on a daily basis.
Attend training courses to ensure qualifications are maintained, and may be required to train other members of staff
Support the supply chain team in all other inventory-related initiatives
If applicable, support the “Coordinator and Material Receiving” in these tasks when required or in case of absence.
All other related tasks are considered part of the role and may be assigned as needed.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Forklift driving experience (essential)
Valid forklift training
Knowledge of the MK system - Asset
Ability to plan and organize work in accordance with deadlines
Excellent work organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work with little or no supervision
