Job Summary
The Senior Director, Enterprise Architecture is responsible for defining and executing Envista’s enterprise architecture strategy, including business-aligned technology roadmaps and architectural standards. This role ensures technology decisions enable innovation, support transformation, and optimize total cost of ownership.
The leader partners across IT and the business to align strategy with outcomes, while leading a matrixed team of architects to drive solution design, governance, and execution. They establish a consistent architecture engagement model and build a high-performing, global architecture community.
This role also oversees architecture governance, including leading the Enterprise Architecture Board (EAB), and works closely with internal leaders and external partners to shape technology direction. As a member of the extended CIO leadership team, this individual plays a key role in influencing enterprise priorities and advancing Envista’s strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
Lead and develop a matrixed team of enterprise architects across IT domains, establishing clear priorities and driving consistent execution
Define and own Envista’s enterprise architecture strategy, including long-term technology direction, standards, and domain roadmaps
Establish and lead a consistent global architecture engagement model to ensure scalable and effective architecture practices across the organization
Chair the Enterprise Architecture Board (EAB) and related governance forums to ensure alignment, consistency, and decision clarity
Partner with IT and business leaders to connect technology strategy with business priorities and outcomes
Identify and advance innovative solutions that enable transformation, improve efficiency, and reduce total cost of ownership
Build and foster a global, cross-functional architecture community to promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and consistency
Serve as a trusted advisor to IT leadership and the business on strategic architecture decisions and investment priorities
Drive alignment across business units and functions within a federated operating model
Ensure strong linkage between emerging technology opportunities and evolving business needs through cross-functional collaboration
Partner with external vendors, strategic software providers, and managed services partners to influence architecture direction and delivery outcomes
Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating relevant insights into Envista’s architecture strategy
Collaborate closely with the CIO staff to support enterprise priorities and strategic initiatives
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
10+ years of experience in IT, including enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or related disciplines
7+ years of experience in leadership roles, including management of matrixed or distributed teams
Demonstrated experience defining and executing enterprise architecture strategies and technology roadmaps
Experience operating within complex, global organizations with multiple business units or a federated model
Proven ability to influence senior IT and business leaders and align stakeholders around strategic priorities
Experience leading architecture governance, including participation in or leadership of architecture review boards
Experience working with third-party partners, including strategic vendors and managed services providers
Preferred Skills & Experience
Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering)
Experience in healthcare, life sciences, manufacturing, or similarly regulated industries
Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF or equivalent)
Experience driving large-scale digital transformation initiatives

Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
