The opportunity

Hitachi Energy Transformer Business Unit in Greater China operates across 55 cities, employs over 1,900 staff, and manages 5 transformer manufacturing plants. More than 90% of its sales come from locally manufactured products. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of Transformers Products, Solutions and Services.  Transformers are essential in all electricity-related fields and applications, including power generation, transmission and distribution, oil, chemical and gas, industrial manufacturing, semiconductor and data centers, as well as building and transportation sectors.

How you’ll make an impact

1. You will develop, implement, and monitor quality management systems (QMS) in accordance with Hitachi's global standards, industry best practices, and relevant ISO certifications (e.g., ISO 9001) also lead and manage a team of quality engineers and inspectors, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.

2. You will establish and track key quality metrics and KPIs, generating regular reports for senior management on quality performance and improvement initiatives also drive continuous improvement activities using methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, and 8D problem-solving to reduce defects, optimize processes, and enhance product reliability.

3. You will conduct internal and external audits to assess QMS effectiveness and compliance, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring corrective actions are implemented also collaborate with R&D, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to integrate quality considerations throughout the product lifecycle, from design to delivery.

4. You will manage customer feedback and complaints, leading root cause analysis and ensuring timely and effective resolutions to improve customer satisfaction and ensure compliance with all applicable national and international standards, regulations, and customer-specific requirements.

5. You will develop and deliver quality training programs to employees across the IKC and manage supplier quality, including supplier audits, performance monitoring, and development programs.

6. You will be responsible for ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

1. You hold a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field. A master’s degree is a plus.

2. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in quality management roles within a relevant industrial or technology sector, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.

3. Proven experience in establishing and managing Quality Management Systems (QMS) compliant with ISO 9001. Other relevant certifications (e.g., IATF 16949, AS9100) are advantageous.

4. Strong knowledge and practical application of quality methodologies such as Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred), Lean Manufacturing, 8D, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.

5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

6. Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of quality professionals with strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.

7. Experience with quality audit processes (internal and external).

8. Proficiency in relevant quality software and tools also should have ability to travel occasionally as required.
