Job Description
Manager of Clinical Nursing Excellence
Schedule and Location:
- Full time typically Monday to Friday, but may vary based on education events
- 2-3 nights a month on-call for the agency (manager/director on-call responsibilities)
- This position will be based at our Corporate Office in Wilmington, NC
- Regular travel throughout our service area to all offices will be a key part of this role.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Act as a champion of service excellence, ensuring a high-quality patient experience
- Facilitate and mentor new and current RNs to meet role expectations and agency standards
- Prepare nurses for preceptor roles through training, education, and ongoing support
- Provide direct patient care while modeling best practices for new hires
- Conduct chart audits, review documentation, and ensure compliance with CMS and accreditation requirements
- Lead engaging education sessions, lunch and learns, and quality improvement initiatives
- Develop and implement evidence-based training resources for RN case management in hospice care.
- Work closely with the Quality Department to identify and address performance improvement opportunities
- Be a visible leader in the field, providing guidance and hands-on support for clinical teams
- Participate in leadership and quality task force meetings
- Assist with the annual skills fair and continuing education initiatives
- Research and develop approved provider units (APUs) for continuing education credits
What We're Looking For:
- Licensed RN with current credentials in North Carolina/South Carolina
- At least 2 years of experience in home health or hospice case management preferred.
- Previous experience as a preceptor or educator in any healthcare setting is a bonus.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills; ability to engage diverse audiences
- Ability to create, adapt, and develop education materials and training resources
- Skilled in performance improvement projects and process enhancement
- Technologically savvy and comfortable with PowerPoint, research, and data analysis, and proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and documentation
Bonus Qualities:
- CHPN certification (preferred but not required)
- Experience teaching EMR systems and clinical documentation
- Enthusiasm for creating innovative, engaging training experiences
- Passion for mentoring and developing nurses at all levels
- Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development
