Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) has developed the Northrop Grumman – Military Internship Program (SKillbridge) utilizing the DoDI guidance for Skillbridge. During this program the service member will be on-site at his or her host company performing an individual internship in an entry to mid-level career type role. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program.
Goals – Provide transitioning service members fellowship-style job skills training during the last portion(s) of their military commitment. This program is specifically designed to offer internships that result in the potential to transition to a full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training. Interns will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into NGC.
Objectives - Service Members who complete the Intern program will be highly-trained, capable, future employees that align to the specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the NG mission “Defining Possible” on Day 1. This program provides a comprehensive internship experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on NG leadership principles, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.
Outcome – Offer transitioning service member a rewarding opportunity to join the Northrop Grumman team.
SkillBridge Eligibility:
· Has served at least 180 days on active duty
· Is within 12 months of separation or retirement
· Will receive an honorable discharge
· Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
· Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
· Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship.

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Space Network / Communications Systems Engineer to work onsite at Schriever SFB, near Colorado Springs, CO for our Front Range Operations and Sustainment Team (FROST) program.
We Liaison with the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) and Satellite Control Network (SCN)to support our Front Range Operations and Sustainment Team (FROST) program, and to provide satellite support services to our mission critical customer. FROST conducts real time on-orbit support, launch ascent support and End-of-Life operations for all NOPS (NRO Operations Squadron) missions. On FROST we collect performance data on launches for the NRO, Department of Defense (DOD), NASA, and commercial industries. You will provide the NRO with a single operational and engineering interface to the Satellite Control Network (SCN).
Responsibilities
- Work with Space Systems and satellite systems Engineering Leadership developing systems requirements and provide systems engineering solutions.
- End-to-end system
- Assist developing plans and tasks
- Modernize space and ground system
- Troubleshooting and resolution of software issues, Support risk management processes and methods
- Develop documents and briefings to communicate work status, briefs to government as required.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years’ experience OR a master’s degree with 3 years' experience OR a High School diploma / Equivalent with 9 years’ experience may be considered in Lieu of degree
- Systems Engineering experience
- Understanding of systems engineering principles and processes
- Familiar with Agile development
- Familiar with satellite operations or other similar systems
- Top Secret SCI with a CI Polygraph
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Server System Administration and troubleshooting analysis in some or all the following platforms: Linux, Windows servers/clients, and Oracle/SQL Databases
- Effectively communicate and present to project and program management, other technical managers and customers
- Ability to interface with multiple stakeholders from a variety of organizations (internally and externally) in support of requirements development
- Solid technical foundation in Systems Engineering processes
- Experience with Systems Integration and System/Software Testing, including virtualized environments
- Working knowledge of system design and overall integration into an operational environment
- Detailed knowledge of Windows and Unix environments
- Security + or another DoD 8570 approved certification
