Project Title: Manufacturing Process Improvement and Data Analytics Project


Project Description:
This project focuses on understanding manufacturing processes and identifying improvement opportunities through structured data analysis. The intern will explore production performance trends, examine process variations, and develop insights to enhance efficiency, quality, and operational consistency. The project is designed to provide exposure to real-world manufacturing challenges through guided analysis and problem solving.

Objective of the project:
To develop a data-driven understanding of manufacturing processes and propose improvement ideas that enhance efficiency, quality, and safety outcomes.

Opportunities to be offered for Full Time Employment:
High-performing interns may be evaluated for future internship opportunities or full time roles within engineering or operations teams.

Project Scope:

  • Analyse production datasets to identify trends in equipment performance, yield, and downtime
  • Explore factors contributing to process variability and performance gaps
  • Apply structured problem solving approaches to evaluate potential improvement areas
  • Develop recommendations to enhance process stability and optimisation

Learning Opportunities:

  • Exposure to semiconductor manufacturing processes and operational workflows
  • Application of data analysis and basic statistical methods in an industrial setting
  • Introduction to continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Environmental Health and Safety

Deliverables:

  • Data-driven analysis report highlighting key observations and improvement opportunities
  • Presentation summarising findings, proposed solutions, and expected impact
  • Documentation of analytical approach and methodology applied

Impact of Project:

  • Improved understanding of process performance drivers
  • Identification of potential efficiency and quality improvement opportunities
  • Contribution to data-driven decision making within the team

Skillsets Required:

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Basic proficiency in Excel and data analysis techniques
  • Familiarity with statistical concepts
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • Self-motivated mindset with interest in continuous improvement

Course of interests:
Currently pursuing a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related disciplines

Duration Period:
Minimum 5 months from Sep 2026 to Feb 2027.
