Job Details:

The Emergency Services Paramedic delivers basic patient care, provides comfort measures, maintains patient care environment, and reports patient responses to the appropriate licensed staff member. The Emergency Services Paramedic is a member of the collaborative practice team and renders care in accordance with the Ohio Public Safety Rule; the Paramedic may perform emergency medical services only under the direction and supervision of a physician or registered nurse designated by a physician and only in the hospital's emergency department or while moving a patient between the emergency department and another department.

Education:

  • HSD/GED is required

Certification/Licensure:

  • State of Ohio Paramedic Certification is required
  • CPR/BLS is required
  • PALS is preferred at time of hire, but required within four weeks of hire
  • ACLS preferred at time of hire, but required within four weeks of hire
  • EVOC Emergency Vehicle Operations Certification is preferred at time of hire, but required within two weeks of hire
  • This position requires maintaining a valid Ohio driver’s license, being a minimum of 21 years old, and meeting all eligibility criteria for coverage under the hospital’s insurance policy.

BLS: Basic Life Support for Healthcare & Public Safety - American Heart Association, CPR - American Red Cross, Ohio Emergency Medical Services- Paramedic Certification - Ohio Department of Public Safety EMS
