Overview

We are seeking an experienced Insurance & Contract Manager to support rail infrastructure/projects by primarily managing contractual matters (approx. 85%), while also overseeing insurance-related activities (approx. 15%). The ideal candidate will have robust experience in contract management within the rail or infrastructure sector, complemented by a working knowledge of insurance principles relevant to large-scale engineering or transport projects.

Your role

Contract Management (Primary Focus – ~85%)

  • Lead end-to-end contract management activities across rail projects, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and obligations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts, including EPC, design & build, operations, and maintenance agreements.
  • Monitor contractor performance against contractual KPIs and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Manage contract variations, claims, disputes, and change orders, ensuring risk mitigation and commercial protection.
  • Provide contractual advice to project teams, procurement, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support tendering processes, including preparation and review of RFPs, bid evaluations, and contract award documentation.
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory, legal, and compliance requirements within the rail industry.
  • Maintain proper documentation, contract registers, and reporting.

Insurance Management (Secondary Focus – ~15%)

  • Oversee implementation and maintenance of project insurance programs (e.g., CAR, third-party liability, professional indemnity).
  • Coordinate with brokers, insurers, and internal stakeholders on policy placement, renewals, and claims management.
  • Review contractual insurance requirements and ensure adequate coverage and compliance.
  • Support risk assessments and ensure alignment between contractual obligations and insurance coverage.
  • Manage insurance claims, ensuring timely reporting, documentation, and resolution.

About you

Key Skills

  • Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and claims management expertise
  • Solid understanding of rail/infrastructure project environments
  • Knowledge of insurance structures relevant to large-scale projects
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and analytical thinking
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

  • Experience working on railway or metro projects
  • Familiarity with FIDIC contracts
  • Professional certifications in contract management or insurance (e.g., MRICS, CPCU, ACII)
