Job Description

  POSITION SUMMARY:  Scheduling an independent medical evaluation.  Preparation of medical documentation to be sent to the medical provider prior to the appointment.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Utilizes IME network whenever possible in scheduling appointment.   Handles the auditing / tracking of no-show events. Scheduling of IME appointment, following up with provider to verify appointment was kept and to ensure receipt of report. Sorts records and attaches required forms and mails to IME providers prior to the scheduled appointment date.   Sends notification of IME appointment to injured worker and attorney. Documents all activities and results in system to include IME forms. Responds to phone inquiries and/or e-mails regarding status of appointments, transportation arrangements and special requests. Obtains addendums from doctors when requested. Coordinates transportation and translation arrangements and other services when necessary. Communicates with medical billing to resolve billing issues. Adheres to established IME departmental policy and procedure. Supports departmental initiatives (i.e. robocalls). Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives; adheres to departmental policies, procedures, quality and safety standards, and consistently exhibits Chesapeake's Values and Behaviors.  Performs other duties as assigned.  SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Minium experience 1-2 years in a clerical role. Extensive knowledge of medical provider environment and terminology preferred. Demonstrated leadership abilities. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Working knowledge of MS office suite, including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel preferred. Bilingual skills preferred   POSITIONAL COMPETENCIES: Customer Experience Management Drive for Results Organizational/Time Management     Innovation Relationship Building Attention to Detail  PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the teammate is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. The teammate is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The teammate may occasionally lift up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities are required which include, close vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office Environment. The noise level is usually moderate.
