Job Purpose
BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems (PDS) is currently looking for skilled, results driven individual to join our Krakow Technical Center as Basic Software Engineer - Communication & Diagnostics.
In this role, you will work on the configuration, integration, and validation of AUTOSAR Communication Stack and Diagnostic functionalities for embedded automotive systems.
The focus is on ensuring reliable ECU communication, network management, and diagnostic behavior across different projects, working in a distributed development environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and integrate AUTOSAR communication modules (e.g. COM, PduR, CANIF, LINIF, FlexRayIF, SecOC, Transport Protocol)
- Configure and support AUTOSAR diagnostic modules (e.g. DCM, DEM, FiM) and related data (CDD/Candela, ECU extracts, K-Matrix)
- Analyze and debug communication and diagnostic issues using tools such as CANoe
- Support system bring-up and end-to-end communication validation on test benches
- Perform software unit verification activities (SWE.4)
- Collaborate with software, system, and validation teams across locations
- Interface with project leads and contribute to issue resolution and planning
- Provide technical input during customer-related discussions when required
- Create and maintain software documentation (configuration, design, test)
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
- Engineering background in embedded systems or software development
- Experience in AUTOSAR-based software development (2+ years)
- Experience with AUTOSAR tools such as DaVinci Configurator and CANoe
- Good knowledge of C programming
- Understanding of AUTOSAR Communication Stack or Diagnostics concepts
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on experience in AUTOSAR Communication Stack or Diagnostics configuration (nice to have)
- Understanding of automotive communication protocols (e.g. CAN, LIN, FlexRay)
- Familiarity with ASPICE development processes
- Basic knowledge of functional safety (ISO 26262)

Recruitment process
- CV Review - Your application and CV will be reviewed to assess your qualifications and experience in relation to the role requirements.
- Phone Interview (approximately 30 minutes) - This initial conversation is designed to discuss your background, expectations, and answer any preliminary questions.
- Technical Interview(s) (1 to 1.5 hours, one or two rounds) - Conducted in English with the manager and an additional team member, this stage focuses on evaluating your technical knowledge and problem-solving skills. The interview can be held via Teams or at our office.
- Final Interview (45 minutes) - A meeting with a representative from the HR department to ensure alignment with our company culture and discuss the next steps. This interview might also take place via Teams or at our office.
