Pavement Engineer
Sydney or Newcastle, NSW

As a Pavement Engineer, you’ll bring your technical expertise to the design and delivery of durable, high-performing pavement solutions across multi-disciplinary transport projects.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring pavement systems are safe, cost-effective and built to last - while collaborating with a team that values technical excellence and innovation.
What you’ll do
You’ll contribute across the full project lifecycle, supporting design, review and delivery activities:
- Review pavement materials, mix designs and maintain concrete mix registers
- Design and assess flexible and rigid pavement systems
- Prepare technical reports and engineering drawings
- Undertake desktop reviews to ensure compliance with quality systems and client requirements
- Collaborate across disciplines on major infrastructure projects
- Support proposal preparation, including cost inputs and technical contributions
- Apply relevant standards, regulations and best practice methodologies
- Support safe design principles and contribute to project risk identification
- Assist in delivering high-quality outcomes that improve client satisfaction

What you’ll bring
We’re looking for a motivated Pavement Engineer with strong technical capability and a collaborative mindset:
- ~5+ years’ experience in pavement engineering
- Experience in flexible and rigid pavement design and technical reporting
- Exposure to geotechnical engineering (desirable)
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Ability to manage workloads across multiple projects and priorities
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes
- Ability to work independently while contributing to team success
- A proactive, adaptable approach with a focus on continuous improvement
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
Working towards Chartered Engineer status
