Job Description
Be at the controls of a power system that can’t pause. The System Operator helps keep El Paso Electric’s Balancing Authority safe, reliable, and responsive—while operating in the western Energy Imbalance Market (EIM). You’ll monitor real-time grid conditions, coordinate generation and interchange schedules, and take decisive action during abnormal or emergency events using delegated operating authority. Working side-by-side with internal teams and external market/utility partners, you’ll protect reliability, support market performance, and uphold NERC, FERC, WECC, and EIM requirements with constant situational awareness.
