Job Description
Objective of Job:
- We are seeking a highly visionary E/E Architecture Expert with profound expertise in system-level design and hardware-defined vehicle principles. You will serve as the principal Architect to define and steward China’s E/E architecture blueprint, aligning closely with Software Architecture, Powertrain, Chassis, Body, Thermal, and Cockpit/Intelligent Driving teams. You will translate system-level intent into clear, testable hardware requirements and interface contracts, ensuring end to end consistency across execution teams. You will lead key technology and supplier selection, and provide structured decision recommendations balancing performance, cost, and lifecycle. You will establish China EEA architecture governance, roadmaps, and KPIs, drive integration of central/zone computing patterns, and secure cross domain interoperability. Acting as the primary counterpart to HQ EEA team, you will proactively align design principles, close gaps, and champion the fusion and recognition of China EEA design in global programs, enabling scalable, future proof solutions and accelerating China for China competitiveness.
Task Description:
- Lead the system-level definition of hardware components (e.g., DCU, ZCU, various ECUs) within a zonal-based vehicle E/E architecture, including functional partitioning, interface specifications, and power budget planning, lead China HW and system EEA Framework, promote EEA solution to Management team;
- Responsible for designing the vehicle’s power distribution and supply architecture, covering conventional power, sleep/wake-up modes, and fault-tolerant power supply. Conduct top-level design for power paths, cable specifications, fuse/relay selection;
- Define the physical layer and topology of the in-vehicle network (e.g., Ethernet PHY, switch layout, CAN/CAN FD network), ensuring signal integrity and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC);
- Create and maintain the Hardware Interface Specification (HIS) for the entire vehicle, detailing electrical interfaces (e.g., GPIO, PWM, ADC/DAC), communication interfaces and power interfaces between hardware components;
- Actively engage with the Mercedes-Benz HQ EEA team to promote integration and recognition of China’s E/E architecture design.
- Education: Master’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or related fields.
- Experience: Over 10 years of experience in automotive E/E architecture development, with full-cycle leadership in at least two mass-production vehicle programs.
Technical Expertise:
- Proficient in centralized E/E architecture with deep understanding and hands-on experience in domain and zonal architecture
- Familiar with central computing units and zonal controllers design principles
- Expert in in-vehicle networking, with in-depth knowledge of CAN/CAN FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet (100/1000BASE-T1, TSN), and network design
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, including vehicle power distribution, grounding strategies, circuit protection, load calculation, and EDD (Electrical Design Document) development
- Skilled in hardware/software interface design, with solid hardware knowledge in microprocessors, power management, EMC, and deep understanding of AUTOSAR (Classic/Adaptive) and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
- Proficient in architecture and network development tools such as EA (Enterprise Architect), PREEvision, CANoe
