The Role
Blue Owl is seeking a Valuations - Credit, Vice President that will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of valuations across Blue Owl’s Credit platform. This role is responsible for leading valuation processes, developing and reviewing complex financial models, and delivering clear performance insights and reporting to senior management and governance bodies. Serving as a key subject matter expert, the Vice President drives best practices in fair value measurement, supports regulatory and audit reviews, and partners closely with internal and external stakeholders to uphold ASC 820 compliance and industry standards. The role also focuses on continuous process improvement to enhance scalability, transparency, and control within a fast paced, multi asset investment environment.
Responsibilities
Lead the valuation process across Blue Owl’s Credit Funds
Build financial models to evaluate, support, and reconcile valuations, including stress-testing and back-testing
Create performance analyses, variance summaries, KPI trackers, reporting packages, and presentations for senior management
Implement valuation best practices to ensure accurate and timely delivery of valuation materials across multiple teams
Coordinate activities and materials for the Valuation Committee with a focus on identifying and presenting trends and performance drivers relevant to our business
Provide subject matter expertise on valuation‐related items, such as regulatory reviews, new business initiatives, and current market practices relating to valuation issues / hot topics
Drive process enhancements while ensuring policies, procedures, and methodologies are in accordance with ASC 820 Fair Value Measurement and industry best practices
Act as a liaison for external auditors and third-party valuation firms, managing inquiries and ensuring valuation integrity
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business
8+ years of valuation related work experience in Valuations, specifically Direct Lending and/or Asset Backed Finance (consumer finance, small business finance, equipment and aviation leasing, residential finance).
Direct experience utilizing valuation techniques and methodologies including discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company, and precedent transactions with a thorough understanding of ASC 820 and corresponding valuation guidance
Strong ability to analyze and evaluate data, formulate accurate conclusions, and clearly recommend solutions
Effective project management skills with an awareness of internal business controls
Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to forge strong collaborative relationships with internal partners/stakeholders at all levels
Finance or accounting designation such as CFA, CPA preferred
Proficiency in Power BI preferred
The base annual salary range for this New Jersey-based position will be $150,000 - $195,000. Actual salary offered will be based on the candidate’s skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
