Used Car Management is a core competitive advantage for Volvo Cars. Strong used car performance directly supports residual values, brand perception, customer retention, and long‑term customer relationships. When professionally managed, the used car business strengthens the entire Volvo value chain and is a strategic enabler for improving our P&L and cash position.
As a department, we manage both the Wholesale/Remarketing business, and the Consumer/Retailer used car business through Volvo Selekt Certified Used Cars. Selekt certified used cars create peace of mind for customers by offering serviced, carefully checked and certified vehicles with warranty included, exclusively sold through authorized Volvo Cars retailers. This channel delivers the highest returns across the value chain for Volvo Cars and our partners.
In parallel, our remarketing operation exceeds 50,000 units per year in Europe and is a major contributor to company profitability and cash. As the used car market evolves rapidly — driven by electrification, data transparency, and changing customer expectations — we continue to develop a more integrated, performance‑driven used car system across markets.

What you'll do
The Market Area Lead, Used Car Business, drives the overall performance, development, and transformation of Volvo’s used car operations across assigned market areas. The role brings together retail activation, remarketing performance, pricing and stock efficiency, and used BEV demand generation into one unified approach.
It enables markets, through strong NSC and retailer ownership, to strengthen profitability, customer demand, and residual values by activating the full used car business system — from sourcing to retail sales and from Volvo owned stock to retailer performance.
The role serves as the key interface between market areas, global Used Cars, and central commercial functions, ensuring that markets have the governance, tools, and support needed to deliver results and navigate the accelerating shift to electrification.
- Increasing used car sales volume and profitability across markets
- Strengthen Volvo Selekt quality, execution, and retailer engagement to enhance conversion and margin.
- Guide markets in improving used BEV demand by building confidence in product, price, and total cost of ownership.
- Strengthen transparency and usability of used car data by data-driven insights, enabling clearer performance conversations and decision making.
- Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration. Act as the link between markets and global functions, supporting commercial transformation, new channel strategies, and electrification.
- Work closely with Volvo Financial Services and finance stakeholders to align used car pricing, residual value assumptions, sourcing strategies, and commercial offers across markets.
What you'll bring
- Strong experience in used cars (minimum 5 years leadership) from NSC or retail network
- Ability to connect data with commercial actions and communicate insights clearly
- Strong influencing skills across multiple countries and stakeholder groups
- Experience improving stock turn, pricing efficiency, and channel utilisation
- Understanding of BEV dynamics, customer adoption barriers, and value communication
- Analytical, structured, and pragmatic working style
- Senior profile, self driven person, leading by example through influence, alignment, and clarity of direction.
