Phlebotomist - Neurological Sciences Center

This role supports a high-volume Neurosciences clinic serving patients with complex neurological conditions. Phlebotomy services are essential in supporting timely diagnosis, medication monitoring, and ongoing treatment plans.

This is a fast-paced environment involving complex and specialty collections that may require detailed processing procedures. While training is provided on clinic-specific specialty draws, candidates should have prior phlebotomy experience and a strong foundational knowledge of venipuncture.

This position works independently within a dedicated lab space and requires someone comfortable with autonomy and minimal direct supervision. Priority consideration will be given to candidates with at least 6 months of hospital phlebotomy experience and experience using Beaker.

Location: Neurological Sciences Center at Clarkson Doctors Building North | Nebraska Medicine Omaha, NE

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Duties: Phlebotomist

Responsible for collection and transportation of patient specimens for clinical laboratory testing adhering to department identification policies. Perform, evaluate, and report patient specimens using point-of-care instrumentation. Demonstrate behavioral skills that contribute to a productive work environment, represent the lab in a professional manner, and provide excellent customer service. May process and distribute patient specimen for clinical laboratory testing.

Required Qualifications: Phlebotomist
• Minimum of 18 years of age required.
• High school education or equivalent required.
• Effective written and oral communication skills required.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility required.
• Computer experience required.
• Attention to detail required.
• Ability to multitask required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology required.

Preferred Qualifications: Phlebotomist
• Direct patient care experience or completion of a phlebotomy course or phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification PBT (ASCP) preferred.
