Job Description

Graphic Designer – Global Wave Group 

Location: CBD, Auckland (Office based)  

Reports to: Head of Marketing 

 

Role Purpose 

The Graphic Designer will support the company’s branding across both online and offline channels. The role will be responsible for producing visually compelling designs that enhance brand identity, support marketing campaigns, and elevate overall communication impact. It requires strong aesthetic judgement, innovative thinking, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Create visual assets for a wide range of channels, including social media graphics, marketing collateral, advertising key visuals, exhibition materials, and other promotional designs. 
  • Develop creative concepts aligned with brand positioning and communication goals. 
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the company’s visual identity system to ensure brand consistency across all deliverables. 
  • Improve existing design templates to enhance visual consistency and brand recognition. 
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, product, and PR teams to support brand campaigns, marketing activities, and advertising initiatives. 
  • Deliver design variations quickly based on campaign needs and stakeholder feedback. 
  • Balance creativity with user experience considerations, ensuring visuals resonate with target audiences. 
  • Stay up to date with design trends and platform best practices, proposing innovative visual solutions proactively. 


Essential Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Visual Communication, Graphic Design, or related fields. 
  • 2+ years of experience in graphic design; experience in internet, advertising, or brand design industries is a plus. 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other major design tools. 
  • Strong creative ideation skills and the ability to take a project from concept to final production. 
  • Excellent sense of aesthetics, typography, layout, and color; highly detail-oriented. 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to understand business needs and deliver commercially effective designs. 
  • The ability to provide a portfolio showcasing past design work is required. 
  • Willing to work non-standard New Zealand business hours.
