The role

As a Facility Planner, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting major submarine and defence infrastructure programmes. You’ll help shape and maintain planning data that underpins critical operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll have the opportunity to work at the heart of project controls within a high-performing engineering environment. Your work will directly contribute to national security while giving you exposure to complex programmes, stakeholder engagement, and advanced planning tools—supporting your long-term career development in defence and engineering.

 

  • Supporting the development and maintenance of project schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring accuracy and alignment with programme requirements
  • Analysing planning data, performing schedule health checks, and identifying risks, delays, or changes to baseline
  • Producing clear schedule visuals and reports to support programme reviews and stakeholder decision-making
  • Collaborating with project controls, engineering, and operations teams to coordinate activities and resolve conflicts
  • Participating in project meetings and supporting stakeholder engagement across multiple workstreams

 

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

 

 

Essential experience of the Facility Planner

  • Experience using Primavera P6 or similar project planning tools
  • Strong understanding of planning, scheduling methodologies, and project controls
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualisation tools
  • Ability to analyse data and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team

 

 

Qualifications for the Facility Planner

  • GCSEs or equivalent academic qualifications - Essential
  • Primavera P6 training - Essential
  • Association for Project Management Project Fundamentals Qualification - Essential
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent - Desirable

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
