Job Overview

TowerLight Senior Living is located in historic St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Only 10 minutes from downtown Minneapolis, we are near public transportation and the crossroads of Highways 7 and 100. Our community offers 115 units of beautifully appointed Independent Living Apartments, innovative Assisted Living Apartments, state-of-the art Memory Care and Enhanced Care Suites (as well as an intergenerational day care). Our tenured team ensures a strong commitment to delivering high end comfort and the best senior care available for our residents.

 

The Culinary Assistant is responsible for dining room and to-go meal service to residents.

 

The schedule includes;

  • 21 hours every two weeks ; Part Time
  • 4:00pm-7:00pm shift
  • Block Schedule: 
    • Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday
    • Week 2: Tuesday and Wednesday
  • Every other weekend and holiday rotation


Responsibilities

  • Serves meals and ensures that the dining area is clean and inviting:
    • Follows meal serving schedule and procedures.
    • Offers resident meal choices and meets resident’s specific dietary needs.
    • Uses proper safety and sanitation techniques.
    • Follows dining room cleaning schedule and procedures.
    • Follow proper procedures for dining room set-up.
    • Follows proper work flow to stay on task.
    • Learns and becomes proficient with EMenu System and restaurant style service.
    • Ensures all dishes (including flatware, drinkware, etc.) are washed, sanitized, and put away before end of shift.
  • Promotes and encourages positive resident relations and satisfaction:
    • Welcomes residents and initiates conversation.
    • Accommodates resident requests such as requests for food substitution, change in seating, etc.
    • Listens to any complaints and responds appropriately. Refers issues to Executive Director and Culinary Director as appropriate.


Required Qualifications

  • less than 1 year experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • 1 year experience
