Description
We are on the lookout for a TUFLOW Technical Engineer to join our growing team. As a TUFLOW Technical Engineer, you will bridge the gap between our product development teams and our customers. Acting as both a front-line support and product SME, as well as playing a critical role in helping shape the future development of the TUFLOW product suite. This role would ideally be based in Brisbane; however, we are open to the right applicant anywhere in Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with software testing and benchmarking, including pre-release testing of new concepts and software features in flood, urban drainage, pipe network, coastal hydraulics, water quality, sediment transport, and particle tracking modelling.
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of TUFLOW Classic/HPC, TUFLOW FV and TUFLOW CATCH, associated systems and various modelling processes.
- Contribute to user support and educational activities.
- Work with our customers to ensure a positive user experience.
- Participate in our continual enhancement of TUFLOW software products and capture consulting/industry needs by regularly liaising with the software developers.
- Assist with training courses and workshops. This may require travel within Australia and internationally.
- Document new features and processes for our Manuals, Wikis and other media.
About you
- Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or other relevant area of study with an enthusiasm for hydraulic, hydrodynamic and environmental modelling.
- Have 3 to 8 years of experience post-graduation using TUFLOW and/or TUFLOW FV and/or TUFLOW CATCH.
- Possess knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) particularly QGIS, ArcMap and/or MapInfo.
- Be based in Australia, preferably Brisbane and or Sydney, Melbourne, Perth or Adelaide, with unrestricted working rights.
- Have experience in or ability to learn various programming tools and languages, including Python.
- Be a team player with a good balance of interpersonal and technical skills.
- Have a customer-facing attitude and ability to operate within a team and independently.
- Have a desire to help others through aiding, training, and presenting to individuals and small groups.
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Be highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrate initiative and take a proactive approach to tasks.
