Overview
Sonographer / Ultrasound Tech – Ultrasound specialty in Lewiston, Maine. Start date July 13, 2026 for a 13-week travel assignment. Weekly pay range $2,394-$2,578 per week. No guaranteed hours. 16-hour day shifts with on-call coverage weekends and holidays (7am–9pm), with no weeknight or overnight call, in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities
- Perform clinical general ultrasound examinations and specialized studies; correlate clinical history with the test to determine the appropriate procedure.
- Prepare patients, explain procedures, ensure safety and comfort, and provide patient education relative to testing.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, select appropriate transducers, and assess image quality; differentiate artifacts from pathology.
- Assist with general ultrasound interventional procedures (e.g., biopsy) and provide nursing/technical support as needed.
- Coordinate with radiologists, nurses, and other team members; document findings in the EMR and communicate essential results to referring physicians.
- Schedule, track, and review imaging studies, verify orders/diagnoses, manage add-ons, and maintain accurate records and equipment performance.

Requirements
- License in the State of Maine to practice as a sonographer; active status required.
- ARDMS registration or equivalent credential; graduate of an ARDMS-accredited school of sonography.
- Associate degree is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the work location.
- Grayscale image discrimination proficiency; ability to work effectively in a high-stress clinical environment.
- Ability to work in a hospital setting and collaborate with a multidisciplinary imaging team.

Notes on credentials and scheduling
- This assignment requires on-call coverage for weekends/holidays (7am–9pm) with no weeknight or overnight call.
- Up to 16 hours of orientation are unpaid.
- The employer may cancel up to a limited number of shifts within the contract term.
