Purpose of the role
To assess and approve/decline credit applications based on established credit policies, risk appetite, and regulatory requirement and analysing financial information, evaluating creditworthiness, and recommending credit terms and conditions to ensure responsible lending practices.
Accountabilities
- Analysis of lending applications, financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant documents to assess the borrower's creditworthiness and repayment capacity.
- Monitoring the performance of approved lending , identifying potential risks and early warning signs of delinquency.
- Evaluation of the risk profile of each application considering factors like industry trends, borrower financials, collateral, and market conditions.
- Provision of independent credit decisions on lending applications, adhering to established credit policies, risk parameters, and regulatory requirements.
- Development and implementation of appropriate course of action for troubled lending , including workout plans, restructuring, or collections.

Join us as Credit Risk Analyst where you will conduct detailed credit analysis and due diligence for Corporate, Financial Institution, PSU, and Sovereign clients across India. Prepare high-quality credit proposals and recommendation notes for senior credit sanctioners and risk committees. Analyze financial statements, cash flows, balance sheets, profitability metrics, and industry trends to assess credit risk. Monitor emerging risks, adverse developments, and sector-specific trends, escalating concerns and recommending corrective actions where necessary. Maintain data integrity across credit risk systems, ensuring limits, ratings, and risk parameters are updated accurately. Support senior credit officers in developing portfolio-level risk insights and exposure monitoring. Ensure adherence to internal credit policies, risk frameworks, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with business, risk, and support functions to facilitate sound credit decision-making.
To be successful as an Analyst – Credit Risk, you should have:
- Strong understanding of corporate credit analysis and risk assessment methodologies.
- Ability to interpret and evaluate financial statements, cash flow analysis, leverage metrics, and key credit indicators.
- Knowledge of banking products, lending structures, and risk management principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Basic / Essential Qualifications:
- Graduate degree with strong academic credentials.
- Experience in Credit Risk, Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Risk Management, Financial Analysis, or related domains.
- Strong financial statement analysis and credit underwriting skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
Desirable Skillsets:
- MBA (Finance), CA, CFA, FRM, or other relevant professional qualifications.
- Experience within Corporate & Investment Banking environments.
- Knowledge of credit risk systems, portfolio monitoring, and regulatory frameworks.
- Understanding of Indian corporate, financial institution, PSU, and sovereign credit markets.
