Job Description

Thomas Electronics is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations and employee services at our Clyde, New York facility. This role is designed to provide flexibility and may be structured as either a part-time or full-time position based on the candidate's availability and qualifications.

Onsite presence is essential to effectively support employees, supervisors, and plant operations. The schedule may be particularly attractive to individuals seeking a work-life balance, while remaining available onsite to support employees throughout the workday.

For candidates interested in a full-time role, responsibilities may be expanded to include administrative and operational support functions in areas such as accounting, production control, purchasing, or general business administration, creating a diverse and engaging position with broad organizational exposure.

Human Resources Administration

  • Review and approve supervisor-submitted timecards for accuracy and completeness prior to weekly payroll processing.
  • Coordinate with Accounting to ensure timely and accurate payroll submission.
  • Monitor employee attendance and compliance using reports generated through ADP and other HR systems.
  • Track and maintain employee performance review schedules and provide reminders to supervisors and managers.
  • Administer and monitor employee leave programs, including Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), disability leaves, and other approved absences.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions regarding benefits, policies, and HR procedures.
  • Assist with recruitment activities, including reviewing applications, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and maintaining applicant records.
  • Maintain employee personnel files and HR records in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Ensure confidentiality and integrity of employee information.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding activities, including new hire documentation and employee separations.
  • Assist with HR reporting, audits, compliance activities, and special projects as assigned.


Administrative and Cross-Functional Support (Full-Time Option)

  • Provide administrative support to Accounting, including document management, data entry, and reporting.
  • Assist Production Control with scheduling, recordkeeping, and operational coordination.
  • Support purchasing, inventory administration, and other business functions as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and special projects across departments.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources, payroll administration, office administration, or a related role.
  • Experience with ADP or other HRIS/payroll systems preferred.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws, including FMLA and wage-and-hour regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work onsite in an office and manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use standard office equipment throughout the workday.
  • Occasional movement throughout the facility to support employees and operations.
