We are SLR Consulting (US), a coast-to-coast team of 500+ advisory, environmental/engineering, and regulatory professionals. We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients through the integration of over 30 advisory, technical environmental, and engineering disciplines to help clients address some of their most complex challenges around sustainability. As our new SVP EVC, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.
Role
Malk Partners (the Responsible Finance team within SLR) advises the world’s most successful investors on responsible investment. The Responsible Finance team assists private equity firms in establishing best-in-class environmental, social, and governance (ESG) programs that are deployed throughout the investment lifecycle in order to mitigate risk and create value. We partner with firms that invest across a range of industries, including financial services, healthcare, technology, manufacturing, and consumer products. The Responsible Finance team was an early entrant into this rapidly-evolving industry and continues to be at the forefront of ESG innovation and defining best practices.
The SVP, EVC is responsible for all services we provide to portfolio companies owned by private market investors (“GPs”). The leader will oversee three core service lines: Monitoring, Climate and ESG Value Creation. This leader will collaborate extensively with leaders in GP Advisory (both Americas and EMEA) to engage our existing GP clients on their portfolio companies.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic capabilities to re-define visions and strategy for Portfolio Company Operations across Monitoring, Data, Climate and Value Creation
- Serve as a senior advisor to PE sponsors, investment professionals, operating partners, and portfolio company leadership
- Develop and execute GTM strategy, while building, maintaining and converting a strong opportunity pipeline
- Ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders in projects (e.g., multiple executives, operating executives and financial sponsors/board members)
- Ability to hire and develop a strong consulting/advisory team (e.g., hiring at multiple levels, sources to recruit talent, high win-rate for offers, etc.)
- Coach and develop team members across technical ESG skills, commercial acumen, and client leadership
- Collaboration with key Responsible Finance leaders across asset classes, service lines and geographies
- Ability to identify and leverage SLR capabilities across Strategic Advisory and Technical Consulting
- Strong execution focus and willingness to “roll up sleeves” on business development and project execution
- Knowledge of key ESG frameworks and regulations (e.g., EDCI, UN PRI, SFDR, CSRD, SBTI, SB-261, S-211, etc.)
- Design and implement the operating structures, delivery models, tools, and internal processes needed to scale the ESG value creation platform, ensure consistency of execution, and support sustainable growth

- The salary range for this position is $225,000 to $275,000, with the final agreed upon compensation to be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.

Qualifications/Education/Memberships:
- 5+ years experience leading ESG/sustainability at private/public company
- Demonstrated strategic and operational impact in ESG/sustainability leadership role (e.g., several initiatives created and executed, top-line revenue growth, margin improvements, etc.)
- 3+ years experience in the PE/private market investing industry
