With 50 locations and 100 programs in NYC’s most under-served communities, our 1,000+ results-oriented professionals make a difference for more than 40,000 children and their families each year.   Position Summary The Maintenance/Custodian is responsible for performing custodial duties, minor maintenance and other miscellaneous duties in order to ensure that buildings and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner. This is a part-time SUMMER ONLY position located in Far Rockaway.   Essential Functions Clean offices and recreational facilities Mop tile and concrete floor area, Vacuum all carpeted area Wash and disinfect all washroom floors, toilets, toilet seats, hand dryers and fixtures Clean all mirrors, and replenish toilet tissue and soap as needed Empty all waste baskets and garbage cans and place garbage in outside storage bin Clean entrance and exit including glass, doors and hardware Keep outside area near exit and entrance clear of snow, cans, paper, etc Perform and/or report minor maintenance repairs Report damages and acts of vandalism Wash and buff floors with floor polisher Performs other related duties as assigned   Hours Saturday-Sunday | 3:00pm – 8:00pm   Qualifications High School diploma or equivalency Ability to lift up to 20 pounds   The Child Center of NY is an Equal Opportunity Employer.   All applicants will be considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status or any other category protected by Federal, State or local law.  EOE M/F/D/V   #IND-TCC1
