As a Project Engineer in the Worldwide Safety Assurance (WSA) team, you will be a part of keeping our Guests and Cast Members safe. You will support the design, implementation, and testing of complex surveillance and control systems, collaborating with senior engineers to drive technical solutions that reduce risk within the Disney Experiences organization.
You will report to the Senior Manager, Video Analytics.
This is an estimated 14-month Project Hire position with no guarantee of permanent placement.
Responsibilities/You Will:
Technical Support and Implementation
Assist in the design and delivery of physical and electronic hardware for surveillance and control systems, including mounting solutions and equipment housing
Support the development of control equipment requirements and technical specifications under the guidance of senior engineering staff
Help implement proof-of-concept mock-ups and prototypes to test new technologies.
Assist with the installation and configuration of hardware (e.g., Bosch, Axis) and the alignment of cameras/IR sensors
Support the integration of computer vision algorithms and AI/ML components into existing safety systems
Participate in testing, troubleshooting, and factory acceptance tests (FAT) during system commissioning
Project Coordination
Coordinate project activities to ensure technical tasks are completed on time and align with the project schedule
Assist in monitoring project progress and documenting technical risks and mitigation strategies
Help maintain project documentation, standards, and scopes of work
Support the tracking of deliverables using Airtable and other project management tools
Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including audio/visual, engineering services, and operations, to ensure seamless system integration
Assist in communicating technical updates and requirements to project stakeholders
Participate in onsite walks with affiliated partners and local Parks leadership to identify safety gaps
Basic Qualifications/You Have:
2+ years of engineering or technical project management experience showing increasing levels of responsibility
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong expertise in Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs)
Experience developing high-impact PowerPoint presentations and translating data into clear, compelling insights
Fundamental understanding of engineering principles and electrical design standards
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Demonstrated proficiency in project management scheduling methodologies, including critical path analysis
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, helping to settle conflicting requirements and priorities between parties
Airtable familiarity and ability to learn expanding reporting functionality
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with systems integration, including communication protocols (TCP/IP, RTSP) or industrial control interfaces
Interest or basic knowledge of automation tools, data analysis, or programming languages (e.g., Python)
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification preferred
Exposure to engineering design tools such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, or Matlab
Interest or experience in machine learning, API, and IoT integrated systems
Experience with AirTable or similar PM Tools for project tracking
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering – or related degree

The hiring range for this position in Lake Buena Vista, FL is $91,000 - $121,900 per year and in Anaheim, CA is $101,300 to $128,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.Job Posting Segment:
