JOB DESCRIPTION
The Business Applications Specialist (BAS) is the subject matter expert for revenue cycle and business applications that support radiology operations. This role provides advanced application support and helps implement, optimize, configure, test, validate, and maintain new and existing systems. The BAS supports workflow improvement, troubleshooting, data integrity, interface coordination, and revenue cycle operations. This position also partners with operational, clinical, billing, analytics, vendor, and IT teams to support efficient radiology business workflows and related ancillary systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
This position requires a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, as the consequences of even a minor mistake can be significant for patients and providers.
  1. Configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and support Royal RIS Revenue Cycle, clearing house platforms, patient portal, and related business applications.
    1. Partner with operational, clinical, billing, vendor, analytics, and IT teams on upgrades, implementations, optimization, and issue resolution.
    2. Provide subject matter expertise on workflows, templates, queues, reports, rules, and operational processes.
    3. Support billing, scheduling, authorization, coding, and patient access workflows, and identify process improvement opportunities.
    4. Support go-lives, upgrades, conversions, downtime events, and post-implementation stabilization.
    5. Participate in workflow analysis, requirements gathering, testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), go-live activities, and change management.
    6. Monitor and troubleshoot interfaces between RIS, revenue cycle, clearinghouse, patient portal, and ancillary systems.
    7. Assist with reconciliation and validation of charges, claims, payments, adjustments, and demographic data to ensure data integrity and revenue accuracy.
  2. Create and maintain training materials, workflow documents, policies, procedures, and end-user support resources.
  3. Develop and execute test scripts for system changes, enhancements, interfaces, workflows, and software releases.
  4. Support analytics, reporting, reconciliation, and revenue cycle performance initiatives as a functional subject matter expert.
  5. Support quality assurance, testing, workflow validation, issue tracking, audit support, and operational readiness.
  6. Manage assigned projects and support activities professionally and on time.
  7. Maintain compliance with HIPAA, organizational security policies, and access governance standards.
  8. Support user access management, provisioning, and audit activities.
  9. Demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  10. Maintain a valid driver’s license and insurability.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in revenue cycle, scheduling, billing, or other healthcare business systems required.
  • Experience with Royal RIS, Imagine, clearinghouse systems, patient portals, and integrated healthcare systems preferred.
  • System administration experience preferred.
  • Healthcare experience required.
