Transportation Maintenance Worker

SUMMARY Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of transit facilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all-inclusive. Monitors and performs daily maintenance and custodial functions at transit facilities. Drive city maintenance vehicle safely through out City of Fort Collins. Repairs and maintains bus stops, shelters and transit centers. Replaces and repairs signs and route information at bus stops. Operates snow removal equipment to maintain bus stops and shelters. Cleans shelters, picks up trash and broken glass, trims weeds, removes graffiti and performs other general upkeep of bus stops, shelters and transit centers. Document and record daily activities and incidents on computer. Work with other city departments as needed for sign placements, right of way information, easements and general maintenance of facilities and grounds. Operates small power tools. Maintains power washers, weed eaters and other equipment. Stocks kiosks with route information. Collects monies from pay machines Responsible for maintenance and PM’s on pay machines SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
