A DAY IN THE LIFE – RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

  • Provide after-hours on-call support during scheduled shifts using a company-provided cell phone and laptop.
  • Respond to and action incoming scheduling-related calls, including:
    • Staff book-offs
    • Urgent scheduling gaps
    • Changes to active visits
  • Escalate any clinical concerns to the designated after-hours on-call nurse for visits currently in progress.
  •  Ensure accurate and timely electronic documentation of:
    • All incoming calls
    • Actions taken
    • Escalations made
  • Maintain professionalism and sound judgment in urgent or time-sensitive situations while working independently and as part of an extended virtual team.
  • While on-call shifts are primarily passive, timely response and professional judgment are critical to ensuring safe and seamless care delivery.
  • As part of a passionate and effective virtual team, respond to and manage inbound requests by phone and email about care services
  • Schedule staff to ensure consistency for families and positive client and staff experiences
  • Ensure the needs of clients and staff are promptly addressed or escalated with empathy, care and professionalism
  • Enter and maintain data in digital care records and other documentation for billing, payroll, tracking, and reporting related to client care.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to ensure excellence in personal and team performance, client and family experience, and overall business growth
  • Participate in training to continually develop your knowledge, techniques and skills

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be available to work overnights in an on call capacity (10:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. ET)
  • Opportunities to also work regular shifts in the evenings, weekends and some daytime. (within the hours of 7:30 a.m. ET- 10:00 p.m. ET)
  • Participation in 3 weeks of full-time paid training
  • Availability of minimum 3 overnights per week.
  • 1+ years of experience in customer service or similar role.
  • Must reside in Canada (team schedule is based on ET)
  • Ability to effectively balance and transition between competing scheduling demands across Ontario, BC, and Alberta.
  • Adaptable and reliable self-starter who also loves working on a strong virtual team.
  • Good availability specifically for overnights, plus some days, evenings, weekends and occasional stat holidays.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, over the phone and in writing.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task with competing priorities.
  • Basic computer skills in MS Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook; overall fluency with digital tools for scheduling and team messaging an asset
  • Reliable home internet access and a quiet workspace with an appropriately private space
  • Paid a flat daily on-call rate as well as compensation at the regular base rate for any time actively worked while on call.
