TITLE: Culinary – Stewarding Supervisor
LOCATION: Snowbird Resort
STATUS: Hourly, Full-Time, Year-Round
SCHEDULE: Varied hours and times of the day/evening: weekdays, weekends, and holidays
SUMMARY
As Culinary – Stewarding Supervisor, you will work under the direction of the Senior Conference Operations Manager to help provide a growth/training environment for Dishwashers and Support Staff throughout the Resort. You will collaborate with Restaurant/Banquet Chefs and Banquet Managers to achieve the highest standards of quality, housekeeping, and maintenance in all kitchens. You will assist in managing all china, glass, silver, and event equipment inventories and help make recommendations on needs to the Senior Conference Operations Manager.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Assist in ensuring all Snowbird standards, policies, and procedures are in accordance with the Food and Beverage directives and local health codes.
- Provide directional flow of kitchen during prep and service on events.
- Reports to work on time in the proper uniform. Obeys all company rules and regulations.
- Ensures standards of appearance and sanitation are met daily.
- Maintains good safety practices of employees throughout the kitchen.
- Organize details as defined on Banquet Event Orders for execution of conference events.
- Help provide ongoing employee training, rewards, and disciplines as merited.
- Assist in ordering, receipt and storage of all kitchen and banquet equipment to ensure a minimum loss from waste or theft.
- Assist in ordering, receiving, maintenance and proper inventory on all products needed for execution.
- Operate dishwashing and sanitation equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness of stewarding areas, equipment rooms, and storage facilities.
- Collect daily documentation on temperature logs, food storage, and rotation in compliance with local health department in collaboration with the Chef team.
- Help promote a team environment to ensure proper communication and quality of products.
- Coordinate equipment movement between off-property storage and kitchen areas as needed.
- Assist with deep-cleaning projects and kitchen shutdown procedures.
- Assist the stewarding manager in supervising all kitchen equipment needs for special events including Oktoberfest

WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE
- Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- College degree in related field preferred. Additional related work experience may be substituted for education.
- 1-2 years of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have a Food Handler Permit.
- Serve Safe certified within 30 days of employment.
- Must demonstrate competency in reading, writing, and arithmetic with accuracy in counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
- Must demonstrate proficiency in handling all kitchen equipment.
- Must demonstrate ability to multi-task, i.e., direct staff activities while maintaining interactions between the front and back of house.
- Must promote teamwork, balance team, and individual responsibilities, exhibit objectivity and openness to other's views, gives and welcomes feedback, contributes to building a positive team spirit, puts success of team above own interests, ability to grow morale, supports the team’s effort to succeed.
- Must be proficient with computers.
- Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
- Requires problem solving and initiation of activities within job description and responsibility limitations.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company standards to operate motor vehicles including golf carts and box trucks.
- Requires strong understanding of other Snowbird operations.
WORK SCHEDULE
- Shifts vary, from early morning to late evening, weekends, holidays depending on business levels.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be prepared to stay overnight, if necessary, on occasional times of road closures.
- May experience unusual stress from high business volumes, deadlines, continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to carry trays and other items needed for service.
- Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions.
- Work is subject to frequent interruptions making continuity and accuracy difficult, frequent exposure to noise.
